Flathead Cherry Festival

Flathead Valley has a lot to offer such as recreation, amazing fruits and vegetables, and Flathead Lake: the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi.  There is so much to do and see in the valley that many choose this area as their destination spot.  Specifically, Northwest Montana is known for their Flathead Cherries and Huckleberries.  Many say the best cherries in the world come from the Flathead area.  The mountain air and fresh water create the perfect environment for growing the most amazing cherries.  One way the people of the Flathead showcase this is with the Flathead Cherry Festival.  This year, it will be held on July 29th and 30th.  In addition to enjoying all the cherries, there are other events taking place such as a sidewalk chalk art contest, cherry pit spitting contest, foodie competition, and a pancake breakfast!  Taking place in Polson, many love to attend this festival as well as visit the beautiful Flathead Valley.
