Seeing Yellowstone in Style: Snowcoach Tours
Yellowstone National Park is one of the many wonders of the world and people love to visit year-round. Problem is, the weather is not always forgiving. I have previously mentioned snow coach and snowmobile tours. For this post, I want to give you more information about the snowcoach tours that are available. In the winter, most of the roads are closed to general traffic as the snow can be too much for a regular vehicle. As Yellowstone Vacations says on its website, the only way to travel in the winter in Yellowstone is by snowcoach, snowmobile, snowshoes, or cross-country skiing! Specifically, snowcoach tours are the same buses they use for summer tours, but with bigger, low-pressure tires that glide smoothly over the snow and give you a better view of the park.
As far as tours are offered, the Old Faithful Tour is daily and you will visit the world’s most concentrated geothermal area. Stops on the tour include Black Sand Basin, Biscuit Basin, Fountain Paint Pot, Madison Junction, many wildlife stops, and of course Old Faithful. The other tour offered is the Canyon Explorer. On this tour, you will visit Yellowstone Grand Canyon, the Lower and Upper Falls, Beryl Spring, and Gibbon Falls. The Old Faithful Tour is offered December 15th through March 15 and the Canyon Tour is offered December 15th through March 7th. These interpretive tours can be accessed right from your hotel! Both options are super exciting with lots to learn! Our team at Yellowstone Rent a Car can make sure you have the perfect ride to get there safely!
